What are lash extensions?
There are three types of lash extensions available: silk, synthetic, and mink. They range from being 6 mm to 17 mm long. Once it’s been decided which length and what kind of lashes a client wants, they are then applied to an individual lash using a special formulated glue, that will not damage your natural lash nor your eyes. Allergic reactions do occur, so it’s important to do a patch test before the procedure.
How long does it take to apply?
Applying a full set takes about 2-3 hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups that are recommended every 2-3 weeks.
Depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, your lash artiste can only go a certain length. This is to ensure your own lashes remain healthy. Everyone’s lashes are different. For example, if your natural lashes are short and thin, it may not be the best idea to go for lash extensions that are 17mm long. Your natural lashes may not be able to hold lashes that are that long.
